Coach Damien Rodiles
Boys Varsity Soccer
|
Coach Rodiles has been coaching since 2014 at CUHS. He also coached a high school team in San Diego for 2 years and was an assistant coach at college for a year. His philosophy is that you can achieve anything you put your mind into with hard work and dedication. It takes more than just talent to be a good athlete, you have to also be a great team player. He expects his players to be respectful and dedicated. He will always be proud of your achievements as long as he sees you giving 100% of your effort. Teams that work together have a better chance at achieving their goals vs a team that works as individuals who are selfish and only think about themselves. If you play for Central soccer, you will bleed blue for the rest of your life. |
Coach Pete Salcedo
Cross Country
|
Coach Salcedo is a CUHS Alumni, Class of 1980. While in high school he participated in cross country and distance track & field. He has always had a passion for running, so naturally when the opportunity became available for him to coach cross country at Central, I was very excited to accept the job. I’ve been coaching now for 6 years. One of the most rewarding things for me as a coach is to help mentor the student athletes to do well not just in running but other areas of their lives. Cross Country is a sport that goes somewhat underappreciated, it’s just not a very popular sport. But it is a sport that requires a high level of hard work, discipline, and dedication to do well. Through out cross country I try and teach these student athletes these traits along with responsibility in the hope it will help them in other areas of their lives after they graduate and move on with their life.

For the past 17 years he has been the Central Girls Varsity Coach. He mentors the girls as needed and always encourages them to do their best on and off the field. He thrives off challenges and always brings the best out of every player. His winning streaks have not come easy but he credits the dedication and trust the girls give him every season. His motto: Never give up, it's all mental! |
